The Auburn Police Department is a
fully staffed, self-sufficient department operating 24/7 serving the needs of
the City of Auburn, while providing a strong community commitment
public safety service for the citizens who reside and work within this
community.
The City of Auburn, Georgia is
located inside the two Metro-Atlanta counties of Barrow and Gwinnett, and is
bordered by the City of Dacula in Gwinnett County on one side with the Town of
Carl in Barrow County on the other side. At present, the City has a population
of over 7,000 residents and is approximately 13.8 square kilometers (5.8 square
miles) in size.
I am very proud of this agency
and the 25 men and women who serve this community. Our sworn and non-sworn
personnel are dedicated, professional, committed employees who strive to make
the Auburn Police Department a premier law enforcement agency in the state of
Georgia. The highly trained men and women of the Police Department are dedicated
in their pursuit to protecting the lives and property of the citizens of this
community, to preserving the peace, and to preventing crime and disorder.
The Auburn Police Department has
also expanded its commitment to the citizens of the city through several
programs which include its Neighborhood Watch Program, Police
Explorers Program, and it’s Citizens Awareness Training. It’s
through programs like these that the police department and the citizens are able
to work together in a cooperative effort to make the city a safer place to live
and work.
