These terms of use and legal restrictions govern your use of this website ("Site"). Please read these terms carefully before using the "Site". Using the "Site" indicates that you ("User") accept these terms fully. You also fully understand that the Webmaster; the City of Auburn Georgia; the Auburn Georgia Police Department; its agencies; officers; employees; agents; or representatives ("Sponsors") can not be held liable in any way from your use of this site or held liable from any damage your computer incurs resulting from the use of this site. You also understand that we may modify these Terms at any time without notice to you by posting revised Terms on our sites. Your use of  the "Site" constitutes your binding acceptance of these Terms, including any modifications that are made.

Purpose

The Auburn Ga. Police Department Website was created and designed by the Webmaster who is no longer employed with the Police Department. The Webmaster created this site with permission of the Auburn Ga. Police Department and/or it's agencies representative for the purpose of communicating general and public information with "Users" by electronic means via the Internet. The information provided on this Website is intended to allow the "Users" access to general and public information generated by the Auburn Georgia Police Department. While every attempt has been made to provide accurate, current, and reliable information, the Webmaster and the Police Department recognize the possibility that human and/or perfunctory errors can occur. The "Sponsors" do not guarantee in any way the accuracy, reliability, or confidentiality of any such communications and can not be held liable in any way when such errors occur.
Not A 911 Service

This website is not intended as a substitute or an alternative resource to 911 service. If you have an emergency, important crime information, or need to speak with an Officer, always communicate this information with the Auburn Police Department by dialing 911 on your landline telephone or wireless device.

Third-Party Sites, Products and Services
Our sites may contain links to other Internet sites owned by third parties. Your use of each of those sites is subject to the conditions, if any, that each of those sites has posted. We have no control over those sites and we are not responsible for any changes to or content on them. Our inclusion on the "Site" of any third party content or a link to a third party site is not an endorsement of that content or third party site.

Although the e-mails can be used to transmit information to members of the Police Department, it is highly recommended that sensitive and confidential information not be remitted over the internet as such information may be easily intercepted. It is also understood by the "User", that due to the unreliable nature of Internet communications, any information transmitted to the Police Department via electronic means may not be received at all and if it is received, may not be reviewed in a timely manner. Any communications made via this website or through the websites’ e-mail system shall in no way be deemed to constitute legal notice to the "Sponsors" with respect to any existing or potential claim or cause of action against the "Sponsors", where notice to the Police Department or City is required by any federal, state, local laws, rules, or policy.

Misuse of "Site"

The technology and software underlying the "Site" and the Services is the property of the "Sponsors", our affiliates and our partners. You agree not to copy, modify, rent, lease, loan, sell, assign, distribute, reverse engineer, grant a security interest in or otherwise transfer any right to the technology or software underlying the "Site" or the Services. You agree not to modify the software underlying the "Site" in any manner or form, or to use modified versions of such software, including (without limitation) for the purpose of obtaining unauthorized access to the "Site". Unauthorized access to the "Site" is a breach of these Terms and a violation of the law. You agree not to access the "Site" by any means other than through the interface that is provided by the "Sponsors" for use in accessing the "Site". Using the "Site" indicates that you ("User") accept the terms of this Policy fully. You also fully understand that the Webmaster; the City of Auburn Georgia; the Auburn Georgia Police Department; its agencies; officers; employees; agents; or representatives ("Sponsors") can not be held liable in any way from your use of this site or held liable from any use of any third party link which has been provided on the "Site" for reference and information. The "User" also accepts and understands that the "Sponsors" may modify this Policy at any time without notice to the "User" by posting revised editions of the Privacy Policy Terms on the "Site". Your use of  the "Site" constitutes your understanding and acceptance of this Privacy Policy, including any modifications that are made.

Purpose

This website does not collect any personal identifiable information in regards to the "User",  the "User's" use of this "Site" or the "User's"  internet actions unless prescribed by law or in the course of an investigation for the purpose of enforcing the laws. The "Sponsors" do not use internet cookies or IP addresses to gain any personal information about the" User". Internet cookies are strictly used to gather statistical information by the "Site's" automatic statistics generator to reference how the "Site" is being used by the operating systems accessing the "Site", what pages are accessed, along with the date stamp that the" Site" information is being looked at. This tool is used to better enhance the "Site" for future reference. However, in obtaining such statistical internet information, no personal information from internet cookies is gathered by the "Sponsors" on the "User".  Personal user information is only gathered when the "User" voluntarily submits that information to the "Sponsors" in writing, or through the use of forms downloaded and/or the Drug Tip Line. When the "User" voluntarily submits such personal information, that information is not sold or given to any third party and stays confidential within the Police Department files, unless other wise prescribed by law  or court order. When using the Drug Tip Line, all information, remains anonymous unless the "User" elects to voluntarily give their personal information to help the "Sponsors" investigate and prosecute any activity which is in violation of the local, state, and federal laws. When the "User" elects to submit such personal information, that information remains within the Police Department files and is not used for any purpose other than the investigator having a contact reference to aid in his investigation and prosecution of the illegal activity.
